Product Description: Orco Blended Product Thin Set Mortar is a premium blend of Portland Cement and sand modified with self-curing water retentive, adhesive chemicals and fillers. The unique formulation provides greater bulk, which results in more coverage and less job cost. OBP Thin Set Mortar may be mixed with only water, however, OBP Acrylic Fortifier is recommended for optimum performance. Uses: OBP Thin Set Mortar is used to adhere glazed and unglazed ceramic mosaic, glazed wall tile, quarry, terrazzo, marble, ceramic and cement tiles to properly prepared substrates, such as masonry, concrete, mortar beds and dry wall in areas not exposed to water. It may be applied to from 3/32" to1 / 4" in thickness over all suitable substrate.

Application: The substrate preparation and installation must be done in accordance with ANSI A108.1 or A108.5 depending upon the system chosen. All substrate must be structurally sound with deflection not to exceed 1/360 of the span, and be free from grease, oil, dust, paint, or curing compounds. All expansion joints, control cold and construction joints must be brought through the tile and filled with and appropriate elastomeric sealant.

When applying the material, spread an area which can be covered in 15 minutes or less. Heat and or wind may cause mortar skinning. If skinning occurs, recomb with a notched trowel. If too dry, remove and replace with fresh material. Apply bonding quantity of mortar with notched side of trowel. Press tiles firmly into place with slight twisting motion. Adjust tile promptly and beat in with block and rubber mallet. Back-buttering large or irregular units may be necessary to obtain the required coverage. Pot life is normally in excess of 2 hours. Climatic conditions will vary both pot life and open time. Allow tiled installation to cure 24-72 hours before grouting. Use Pre-Mix Acrylic Fortifier in lieu of water when installing tile over properly prepared wood substrate. Clean tools and spills with water immediately after use, before material dries.

Limitations: Do not use over frozen or unsound substrate. When applying tile in areas where the ambient temperature is not maintained above 50 deg F., consult Pre-Mix Products for recommendations.

Cautions: Contain cementitious materials and free silica. Prolonged espouser to dust may cause delayed lung disease. Eliminate exposure to dust by using NIOSH approved masks for silica dust. Freshly mixed materials may cause skin irritation. Avoid direct contact where possible and wash exposed skin areas promptly. If any cementitious materials get into the eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water and get prompt medical attention. See MSDS Sheet.
